This article, published in 2014, proposes that community development corporations can do much more than affordable housing; they are aiding communities in all aspects – arts, culture, jobs, and design.
In this way, CDCs create a different dynamic of community development, involving and empowering residents in the improvements of their own communities.
The article highlights CDCs and community partnerships in areas including Westmoreland, W.V. and in the Hill district of Pittsburgh and discuss all that successful CDCs can bring to a community.
