LISC Experts Online: "Sustainable Communities: Taking Vacant Properties Solutions to Scale"

Remediation and reuse of vacant properties remains a core strategy in redeveloping communities that are economically vibrant and offer a competitive quality of life. In this two-part training session recorded in 2010, national experts explore both comprehensive remediation strategies and critical issues that are important to local environments.

  • In session 1, “Tools in the Vacant Properties Success Kit: The Birds Eye View,” hear national experts from the Center for Community Progress and LISC discuss how to identify and assess tools critical to remediation of multiple vacant properties, develop comprehensive strategies and key partnerships, use financial mechanisms for the management and redevelopment of distressed properties, and understand the fundamentals of land banking.
